| This
year marks over thirty years of Lawrenceville
Press publishing the finest computer applications and
programming texts available.
The company founder, Bruce W. Presley, taught computer
science and physics at the Lawrenceville School in Lawrenceville,
New Jersey for twenty-four years, where he wrote his
first text, A Guide to Programming in Basic-Plus, published
in 1975. Mr. Presley served as the director of the Karl
Corby Computer and Mathematics Center at the school,
as well as a member of the founding committee of the
Advanced Placement Computer Science examination and
served as a consultant to the College Entrance Examination
Board. Presently Mr. Presley, author of more than twenty
computer textbooks, serves as president of Lawrenceville
Press.
Beth Brown has been Director of Development at Lawrenceville
Press for over ten years. Ms. Brown, a graduate of computer
science from Florida Atlantic University, has authored
numerous Lawrenceville Press computer applications and
programming texts. Ms. Brown has taught computer applications
and computer programming at the high school and midde school levels.
Several of our texts have won awards in STC Technical
Publications competitions. The Society for Technical
Communication (STC) is an organization of technical
writers, editors, academic professionals, and instructional
designers. Winning these awards indicates the quality
and craftsmanship of the educational materials as analyzed
by our authoring peers:
